The Homewatch CareGivers of Utah Team
Homewatch CareGivers was founded in 1980 in Denver, Colorado by
Paul Sauer. The company has grown to include over 150 different locations on four continents. The Utah office was opened by Kevin Whatcott in 2006 and provides the same high-quality service that clients throughout the world have come to expect.
KEVIN WHATCOTT was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. He
graduated from West High School in 1980 and then served a two-year
mission for his church in New England. After attending the University
of Utah, he graduated with honors in 1988 with a degree in political
science, a minor in economics and a Certificate in Public
Administration. He received his law degree from Boston University in
1991. In 1993, he co-founded the law firm of Whatcott, Barrett
& Hagen PC, a law firm that specializes in helping poor and
disadvantaged clients as they work to regain control of their finances.
The firm grew to be the largest consumer bankruptcy practice in the
state of Utah. Prior to their deaths in 2009 and 2010, Kevin had taken on a more
active role as a caregiver for his mother and father. This new role in their relationship became a regular
and rewarding part of his life. During this time he also saw a
dramatic increase in elderly clients seeking help from his law firm.
Witnessing their troubles first-hand, coupled with the aging of his own
parents, Kevin was inspired to leave

the law practice to start Homewatch CareGivers of Utah to focus more
time on assisting seniors. Kevin is certified as Senior Advisor by the
Society of Certified Senior Advisors. Kevin serves as Administrator and CEO of Homewatch CareGivers of Utah.
Having the right team makes all the difference. In addition to having the best cargivers, Homewatch CareGivers of Utah has the best staff.
Janine McCauley is our Business Manager. Janine worked with Kevin for over 10 years as a paralegal. She now spends most of her time taking care of our payroll and billing. Janine has been amazing in her ability to navigate what to most agencies is a very confusing Medicaid system. With Janine's intelligence and attention to detail, Homewatch CareGivers has emerged as a leader among personal care agencies in providing care to the disabled as well as the senior population.
Anna Gibson is our Client Care Coordinator. Anna is an experienced CNA. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in respiratory therapy. She ensures that the care being provided to our clients meets the Homewatch CareGivers standards. She meets with clients and conducts surprise Quality Assurance visits. If a caregiver has a question about where to go or what to do, Anna has the answers. Anna shares in the responsibilities of being on call 24/7. She assists Amelia with scheduling.
Amelia Whatcott is our Scheduling Coordinator. Amelia was one of our first caregivers and cared for our very first client. Since that time, she has earned an Associates degree from Western Wyoming Community College and has almost completed her Bachelor's degree from BYU in psychology. She is putting her psychology eduction to use as she works to make just the right fit of caregiver to client. Scheduling is the biggest and most important job at Homewatch CareGivers. With over 70 caregivers providing nearly 10,000 hours of care each month, it is a huge job. Yet, she ensures that each caregiver is at the right place at the right time every time. Amelia shares in the responsibilities of being on call 24/7.
Eddie Quijano is our man in the field. As Community Liaison, he takes care of marketing and community relations. Eddie started working for Kevin over 15 years ago. He left for a few years when he moved to Montana. After five years of trying to get him to come back, he finally agreed to return to Utah. He has helped Homewatch CareGivers achieve ever higher levels of success. He is the engine that keeps Homewatch CareGivers moving forward.
Guylene Cox RN is our Director of Nursing. With over 30 years of experience as a nurse, she has the experience to oversee the services provided by Homewatch CareGivers. She ensures that each of our caregivers has the necessary training, creates and reviews plans of care, visits clients and oversees the care given by our caregivers. She has a huge responsibility to ensure that each client receives the care she deserves.
